House divided: Rice for Kaminsky, King for McGrath

Posted

With Long Island getting in gear for a busy two weeks of presidential primary policking, the multi-million-dollar state Senate race on the South Shore is insisting on not taking a back seat.

Both Democratic and Republican presidential primaries and the 9th District state Senate election will be held on Tuesday, April 19.

Democrat Todd Kaminsky and Republican Chris McGrath continued to argue over ethics, Israel, school aid and even the nature of the campaign itself, trading barbs over who is or isn’t willing to debate.

Endorsements poured into both camps, with two Long Island members of Congress dividing, as expected, along party lines. Republican Rep. Peter King comes out for McGrath, while Democrat Kathleen Rice stood with Kaminsky.
