Pittsburgher Rebbe visits Long Beach

Long Beach community was spiritually uplifted by the visit of Rabbi Mordechai Leifer and his entourage of over 100 Chassidim over Shabbos Parshas VaYishlach.

The Rebbe, who resides in Ashdod, is a descendent of Reb Mordechai Nadverno and the immediate heir of his saintly father Reb Avrohom Abba Leifer OB”M who established a magnificent Torah center consisting of several Mosdos in Kiryat Pittsburgh in Israel.

The Rebbe davened and conducted his tischen both Friday night and Shabbos afternoon at the Young Israel of Long Beach.

The visit, a bi-annual tradition, is especially significant to the Young Israel’s rov, Rabbi Chaim Wakslak, who grew up in Newark, where the Rebbe’s father established a Bais Medrash prior to his move to Pittsburgh following the p’tirah of his father Reb Yoseph Leifer O”BM, which immediately preceded his relocation to Eretz Yisroel. Rabbi Wakslak was extremely close to the previous Rebbe and attributes to that source much of his rabbinic vision.
