Fearful yet strong, Israel stands with Hashem

Knives and blades pierce the flesh of innocence, their cries streaming the air, calling our names. It could be us, our friends, our loved ones. It is not an attack, it is a lifestyle. No man is to be considered trustworthy. Civilians are on a constant alert, anxiety chills their bones.

An Israeli friend told me simply, “Hashem is protecting us.” Of the fear that surrounds her, she added, “It is our reality now.”

The beauty of Israel’s people is their dignified courage, and the deep love they have for each other. They fear, yet continue walking their streets. They refuse to leave a place that is home, not because they chose it but because G-d did. They protect what is rightfully theirs, and while they are huddling over their most prized possessions, bloodshed surrounds them. Terror has taken over

It is thought that maybe the world outside of Judaism would wake up and wipe the filth that blurs their vision to see the truth that some many countries have joined to fight one that is a small candle in a storm. But Israel’s flames will hold out for all of eternity. Its civilians are soldiers who know the ways of the battlefield. They refuse to forfeit, to lose the battle, to lose their home, to lose their inheritance.

Israel has a name carved into its very essence, surviving and prevailing past the weapons often thrust against its walls. Its people are the battle.

Israel is something that is so small, yet so desired, it retains all who enter. It is a country filled with spiritual waters, which morph to take the shape of its container.

No matter how many repetitive times an aggressor attempts to destroy it, G-d protects His children. He is the shield of our combatants, an unfathomable shield. The Iron Dome shaped as the palm of a hand, G-d is the reason for the miracles, He is behind it all. He may bring pain and agony, death and destruction, but every bullet is predestined, and every blade is a wake up call for us. Our parent is lecturing us, we need to take the advice.
