Last year David Elefant of Mittman Electric approached Community Chest and offered a generous sponsorship for the Fair and 5K Run/Family Walk. This year they have actually increased their commitment to Community Chest. We are delighted to have them aboard.

The Minister described the emotional moment when she silently stood up at the Olympics donning a black arm band, when IOC President Rogge was speaking, to protest the massacre of the 11 Israeli athletes at the 1972 Munich games, 40 years ago.

The 2012 Maccabi games in Rockland County were held on August 12-17. The games brought in more than 1200 Jewish Athletes from all over the world.
The openning ceremony of The JCC Maccabi Games which encourages the health, physical fitness and well being of Jewish youth, was extremely moving as we listened to Ankie Spitzer , a Munich 11 widow speak.
We are proud of our local athletes representing Friedberg JCC in Oceanside who achieved great success. They won the Bronze medal in basketball !
