Hebrew Academy of Nassau County welcomes Rabbi Rafi Draiman as Assistant Principal of its Plainview elementary school.

Rabbi Draiman, an experienced educator, has a Master’s degree in Education Administration and Supervision, in addition to certification as a Judaic Principal and in Teaching Methodology and Classroom Management.

“I hope that the mix of General Studies, Judaic, and administrative backgrounds I bring with me will help me to better understand and improve the various components of our full school program,” Rabbi Draiman said. “As the only Jewish day school currently serving Eastern Long Island, we have a serious responsibility to offer an exceptional general studies education while simultaneously providing for the continuity of Jewish education to the next generation.”

New for this year, HANC elementary has also installed four SMART Boards to enhance lessons, providing students with instant access to any computerized text or image database.

Continuing with their technological improvements, HANC is in the process of upgrading the computer lab on their West Hempstead campus. New state of the art computers with flat-screen monitors are being installed, giving students the opportunity to work with sophisticated software and advanced internet capabilities.

In their Middle School, HANC is excited to introduce a new program called Gemara Berura, partially funded by the AVICHAI Foundation, which uses cutting edge technology to help students learn gemara through an organized and logical skills-based approach.
