Seventy-five HANC High School students graduated before an audience of several hundred on June 16 at The Space in Westbury.

The program opened with a video presentation featuring the graduating class reflecting on their most meaningful moments at HANC. Rabbi Shlomo Adelman, principal of the high school, welcomed guests and graduates. Salutatorian Rhonda Traub delivered the invocation. Associate Principal Carole Tabin filled in the “dash” for each student.

In his valedictory address,  Ari Levine encouraged his classmates to pursue “all that you do in life with passion, especially when standing up for what you believe in.” He expressed his Hakarat Hatov to his beloved school, family and friends.

The HANC Ensemble presented a heartwarming rendition of “Birkat Habanim.” This was followed by Assistant Principal Tziporah Zucker, who addressed the graduates and introduced the class speaker, Michelle Hoch.

Prior to the distribution of the diplomas, HANC President, Dr. Ruchi Kushner,  congratulated the graduates on their many accomplishments.

Rabbi Adelman, Mrs.Tabin and Ms. Zucker distributed the diplomas along with PTA presidium, Mrs. Deena Ritter and Mrs. Alison Schimel, who distributed the gifts generously donated by the PTA. Class of 2016 member Mathew Katz made a special presentation to Chairman of the Board of Directors, Jeffrey Lichtman, for his service to the school and presented him with a gift from the graduating class.

Rabbi Shlomo Adelman, in his charge to the graduates, encouraged them to always stay close to Hashem.

Following Rabbi Adelman’s remarks, a moving rendition of “Acheinu” was performed by Dylan Homapour (’15) and musician, Pinny Schachter, both of whom had wowed the audience with their earlier versions of the National Anthem and the Hatikavah.

Closing the ceremony, Salutatorian Naomi Liviem administered the Benediction, thanking Hashem for bringing the students to this milestone.

After the proceedings, graduates and guests enjoyed an elaborate collation sponsored by the PTA. Special Yashar Koach to former graduate Max Kahn (’14) for his technical and graphic design expertise provided before and throughout the ceremony.
