Accident claims Cedarhurst girl with ‘heart of gold’

Cedarhurst resident Dina Rosenzweig was niftar after a motor vehicle accident near Buffalo on motzei Shabbat, Aug. 22, according to multiple reports. She was 19.

Rosenzweig, along with Esther Urbach, also of the Five Towns, were both critically injured in the crash and taken to a hospital. Rosenzweig underwent emergency surgery but succumbed to her injuries on Aug. 23.  Urbach remains hospitalized. The young women had visited Niagara Falls.

“She was a very sweet girl, everybody’s favorite baby sitter,” said Rabbi Zalman Wolowik, director of the Five Towns Chabad, where Rosenzweig and her family davened. “She had a heart of gold. Very spiritual.”

One of 12 children, Rosenzweig is survived by her parents Rabbi Menachem and Devorah Rosenzweig, and her siblings Chana, Mordechi, Aharon Moshe, Chaim Tamar, Yossi, Sarah, Hadassah, Menucha, Batsheva and Eliyahu.
