Sports: HAFTR 2009 hockey champs

The yeshiva league's varsity hockey championship was a local affair between HAFTR and DRS. HAFTR (above), coached by Marc Bruh, won it 2-1. The junior varsity championship match-up between DRS and Torah Academy of Bergen County ended in a shutout. The boys from New Jersey won it 2-0.

In a postscript to the basketball season, the very last game was in the girls' varsity B division in which SKA defeated Bruriah 42-24 to win an unprecedented 14th consecutive Metropolitan Yeshiva High School Athletic League basketball championship.
