Posted

In Washington, Shulamith’s Class of 2018 visited the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, where they viewed a cattle car, Auschwitz bunks and shoes taken from the kedoshim, and said a perek of Tehillim.

Next, the girls visited Arlington, where they watched the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Later, they enjoyed a dinner cruise on the Potomac and views of the Lincoln Memorial, White House, Washington Monument, and World War II Memorial.

Day 2 featured a tour of the Capitol, where aides to the South Shore’s representative in Congress, Kathleen Rice, spoke to the girls about working in Congress and tour guide Sheila Schwebel gave an overview of the House Chamber. Then it was on to lunch on the Mall, followed by the Museum of American History, before boarding the buses home.
