Philadelphia’s Rav Kamenetsky visits Darchei

Posted

On Sunday morning, Rav Shmuel Kamenetsky shlita, the venerable Rosh Yeshiva of the Talmudical Yeshiva of Philadelphia and a member of Agudath Israel of America’s Council of Torah Sages, davened Shacharis at Mesivta Chaim Shlomo of Yeshiva Darchei Torah in Far Rockaway. After the davening, he addressed the students of the Mesivta and Beis Medrash as well as the middle school, delivering a brief halachic discourse on the laws of Bircas Hatorah.

He then headed outdoors where he briefly addressed the elementary school talmidim, telling them that “Torah is the greatest [source of] blessing. A Jew is blessed when he is connected to Torah, when his life is Torah, when he learns Torah and is immersed in Torah.” He blessed the boys with “abundant success in Torah and Yiras Shamayim.”

The students, faculty and administration of Yeshiva Darchei Torah were deeply inspired by this august visit, and walked away inspired to strive for greater heights in Torah and Middos.
