Open house happy at HANC

Posted

HANC High School showcased the HANC High experience to prospective students and their parents at the school’s annual Open House last week.

The event began with remarks by HANC menahel, Rabbi Shlomo Adelman, who, along with current HANC students, described the three main components that define this yeshiva: Character, Commitment, and Community.

Freshman Atara  Klein began with a d’var Torah, followed by sophomore Stephanie Hoch, junior Jack Hamer, and senior Daniel Hayimov, each of whom described their individual experiences, relating to one of these cultural components.

Parents and students then proceeded to classrooms, where they attended mini-lessons given by HANC faculty members in both limudei kodesh and general studies. Parents met with associate principal, Marie Palaia, and college guidance director, Karen Sheff.

Parents also participated in an academic fair, meeting with directors and chairs of various departments who gave presentations and answered questions.

Prospective parents also posed questions to a panel of current parents, students, and HANC alum. Simultaneously, prospective students participated in two electives of their choice within the Student Expo. This showcase featured engineering, coding, art, athletics, and a student panel.

The program concluded with an activities fair, where students learned about athletics and the wide array of extra-curricular clubs available to HANC students.
