HANC’s first senior summit

Posted

HANC’s senior class convened its first Senior Leadership Summit on Sept. 18.

The day began with a scavenger hunt at Roosevelt Field Mall. The class was split into teams and went around the mall completing a set of challenges by taking pictures and videos which would be compiled into one long video presentation they would enjoy at the conclusion of the day.

Next, they headed by bus to The Space in Westbury concert hall, where they were greeted with a lunch from Carlos and Gabbys. Leadership trainer Marc Fein expert led an interactive and informative seminar about all aspects of leadership. Students heard how they could create change that lasts and how to plan and execute ideas to make their school even better than it is.

Following Fein’s presentation, the students were escorted into an attractive lounge area, with multiple screens and couches, where they viewed the scavenger hunt video. As the lights were dimmed and sound rose, the seniors enjoyed an amazing 12-minute video filled with lots of laughter and great memories.

The seniors boarded busses back to school with a new understand of leadership and teamwork. Due to the amazing feedback received from students and faculty, the Senior Leadership Summit will no doubt become a staple at HANC for years to come.
