HALB students had blast at hands-on shofar show

Posted

When the Living Torah Museum came to HALB last week, Rabbi Deutsch and his ram gave the children a hands-on experience with the mitzvah of shofar.

They learned why a ram’s horn is used and why it is important to have a curved shofar. Sudents were given a chance to touch and blow bumpy, straight and super curly shofrot.

An explanation was given as to when a specific shofar was used in the Torah and about the animal it came from. The students were excited to learn about the horn of the ayal since its picture is printed on the water bottles in Israel.

The ayal has a unique-looking horn and some students shared that they have seen the ayal while on a tiyul in Ein Gedi.
