HALB marks its 60th

The Hebrew Academy of Long Beach celebrated its 60th Annual Dinner, on its DRS campus in Woodmere on motzei Shabbos on March 7.

HALB honored Sharon and Jeffrey Frieling, presented a dedication in memory of  Rabbi Dr. Armin H. Friedman, and paid tribute to alumni who have served in the IDF and Sherut Leumi.

President Lance Hirt thanked the honorees for for their tireless efforts on behalf of the yeshiva.  Rabbi Armin H. Friedman’s children flew in from Israel for the event, and his son, Rabbi Mordechai Friedman, also spoke.

Also present were Rabbi Yisroel Kaminetsky, menahel, DRS Boys High School; Rabbi Dovid Plotkin, principal, HALB elementary school; and Mrs. Helen Spirn, head of school at SKA High School for Girls, who presented the honorees with their awards.
