HAFTR celebrates Yom Ha’Atzmaut

Early childhood through fifth-grade students at the Hebrew Academy of the Five Towns and Rockaway Lower School marked Israel’s 68th anniversary with a family celebration on May 11.

Music, dancing, flag waving, artwork, robots and a tour of a mini-Israel were part of the party. Flags were received from multiple units of the Israel Defense Forces, robots were programmed to dance to songs about the Jewish state, and students exhibited original metal artwork depicting Israeli symbols in foil, Indian ink, paint, wood and embossing tools.
