Celebrating Yom Yerushalayim

Posted

Many Long Island schools celebrated Yom Yerushalayim, with SKA alumna taking their party to the source, posing at the Kotel.

Flag-bearing HAFTR early childhood students made do with a mock-Kotel at their school.

At HAFTR High School, students gathered in the auditorium on Monday to hear Rabbi Gedaliah Oppen, principal of Judaic Studies, describe the momentous events that marked the day.

The opening of the U.S. embassy in Jerusalem, Israel’s eternal capital, was especially meaningful to the HAFTR community; the U.S. Ambassador to Israel, David Friedman, is a long-time HAFTR parent, grandparent and leader of the yeshiva.
