Posted

The Five Towns Far Rockaway chapter of the Jewish Woman Entrepreneurs will host an event on May 23 designed to help Jewish women entrepreneurs accelerate business growth and development by learning lessons from a local woman who has succeeded in business, politics and philanthropy.

The event, “Lessons from the Top,” will feature Cedarhurst Village Trustee Myrna Zisman, who will draw on decades of experience in busManage Attachments iness and politics to share five tips for achieving success in business.

Zisman will tell how she balanced her passion for business and community involvement and what she learned as she forayed into politics. She served on the New York State Commission on the status of women and on the New York-Israel Cultural Exchange, among other roles.

After graduating from the New York School of Interior Design, Parsons Institute and Pratt Institute, Zisman launched and for 30 years operated her own business. She also co-founded the Shoshana Aleph Chapter of EMUNAH, an organization that provides vital social services and educational programs to children and families in Israel.

Women business owners and entrepreneurs from the Five Towns and Far Rockaway are invited to the May 23 event at the Honig Residence, 61 Muriel Ave., in Lawrence, at 8 pm. to learn how Zisman grew an international business while maintaining a steadfast commitment to tzedakah through philanthropy and politics.

Women in diverse industries and varying stages of business development will get new insight and learn effective growth strategies that they can take home and implement in their businesses.
