After 9 days, Fleishfest is Priority-1

Posted

On August 2, Priority-1 supporters and meat lovers in the Five Towns will celebrate the end of the nine days at the fifth annual Fleishfest.

The Cedarhurst gathering serves to raise funds and awareness for Priority-1, an organization founded in 1987 that works to assist with educational challenges facing the Jewish community. It hosts seminars and training programs for both teachers and parents in an effort to identify problems in the educational system and address them to avoid disenfranchising children.

Fleishfest V will once again feature authentic, Texas-stlye grilling by the Wandering Que, which is providing an 18-foot grill with a continuous supply of premium meats. Additional attractions include a wine tasting, whiskey infused cigar rolling, a sushi bar, and carving stations.

This year will also mark the first Fleishfest King of the Grill BBQ Competition, presented by Elan Kornblum of Great Kosher Restaurants. Teams will compete to cook the best steak, burger and a surprise dish and the winners in each category will receive gift cards to local restaurants.

Sponsors for Fleishfest include Gourmet Glatt, Northway Equities and DJ Associated Architect, Pc. Fleishfest V is organized by Ami Melogn, Shimshi Rosenberg and Ephraim Tennenbaum and Asher Schepansky, who created the BBQ Guys’ Night Out in 2013. It will be hosted at the home of Penina and David Klein, 255 Oakwood Ave, Cedarhurst, starting at 8 pm, rain or shine. Tickets begin at $180. For more information, call 516-295-5700 x104.
