Shulamith students take to the road

Posted

As Yom Yerushalayim nears, Shulamith third graders (left) got an early start in learning about the reunification of Jerusalem 50 years ago, traveling to the Yeshiva University Museum where they viewed paintings about the Six Day War selected especially for them.

Sixth graders (center) traveled to Ellis Island. The trip complemented the sixth grade English Language Arts curriculum which includes a close reading of Letters From Rivka and Journey to America, which depict young immigrant girls passing through Ellis Island.

Eighth graders visited the 9/11 Memorial Museum and the World Trade Center Observatory, beginning their day in an educational workshop entitled Memorialization and Remembrance.
