New year, new team, at HALB

While it’s true that new beginnings can generate a sense of trepidation, the opposite characterized last week’s Meet and Greet event welcoming new principals and their wives at the Hebrew Academy of Long Beach.

Richard Altabe and Rabbi Dr. Uriel Lubetski, two experienced and talented educators, were welcomed with warmth, enthusiasm and excitement into the HALB family.

Long-time parents were able to greet new ones and connect with old friends. Bonnie Sicklick, one of the evening’s chairs, said that “the overwhelming turnout of both the parent body and faculty was a true testament to the warmth and devotion of the HALB family.”

Altabe said that “the school hallways reflect the same commitment to family, community and education that they did when [he] attended HALB as an elementary school student and later as a HALB parent.”

“It was great to meet so many of the HALB parents,” said Shani Lubetski/ We had such a warm feeling from the evening, and are very excited to be joining the HALB family.”
