Valedictorian at the 2015 Blue Ribbon Award Winning high school is Zechariah Rosenthal who graduated with a 99.64 average. A resident of West Hempstead and the fourth of his male siblings to attend Rambam, he is a well-rounded, kind and intelligent young man who is committed to Limud haTorah and mitzvos. For all four years he was in the top shiurim at Rambam and was a Rebbe’s delight.

According to the Rosh Mesivta, Rabbi Zev Meir Friedman, “Zechariah always had great questions and creative answers during shiur, quite frequently his insights mirrored those found in the Rishonim that commented on the sugya we were learning.”

He excelled in all of his secular studies as well and was a National Merit Finalist, captain of the Varsity College Bowl, Math and Slam Poetry teams, and founder of the school’s Writer’s Guild workshop. Zechariah’s poetry is noteworthy and shows his impressive creativity and mastery of the written and spoken word. He won awards in the Yeshiva Poetry Slams and has been published in the Jewish Literary Journal. His impressive research on microfibers at the prestigious Garcia Center was presented at the Materials Research Society 2014 conference and was met with great accolades.

This September Zechariah will be learning in YeshivatHar Etzion (Gush), following which he plans to attend Yeshiva University.  Zechariah plans to study Jewish Philosophy and Engineering in the future.
