HAFTR bowls for Zedek Medical Center

Posted

Last Thursday night, over 80 students from HAFTR High School, participanting in the school’s second annual Bowl-A-Thon, raised over $15,000 for Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem. Each participant raised at least $100.

This money, earmarked for the medical center’s trauma unit, will benefit the 850,000 patients that Shaare Zedek treats every year. With the recent rise in terrorism in Israel, a majority of the victims of these attacks have been treated in Shaare Zedek.

The team that had the honor of raising the most money was “Team Friends,” whose captain was Emma Alpert. Placing second for most money raised was captain Tami Noskow’s team, “Bowling Vibes.” By emailing family and friends to ask them to contribute to a worthwhile cause, HAFTR students accomplish something amazing.

The Bowl-A-Thon was held at Woodmere Lanes and was organized by HAFTR senior Gabe Shore.
