Bet El headliners: Huckabee and WAZE’s Rosen

Posted

Attendees at the 33rd annual dinner of American Friends of Bet El will hear from two remarkable heroes of Israel — presidential candidate Mike Huckabee and Modi Rosen, Israel’s leading venture capitalist who is responsible for the success of the WAZE app.

Rosen is helping get you physically where you want to be while Huckabee is working to lead Americans to where we must go morally and fundamentally.

The gala is set for the first night of Chanukah — Sunday, Dec. 6 — at the Marriott Marquis off Times Square. Buffer dinner starts at 6 pm, program begins at 8 pm.

Many consider Gov. Mike Huckabee one of the most important supporters and allies to Israel in American politics today. With everything that has been happening in the Middle East recently, his voice has roared stronger with each passing day in support of Israel.

He declared that the Iran nuclear deal “is marching Israelis to the door of the oven.” Many who don’t want to face reality attacked him for being so dramatic in pointing out that if enemies of Israel and the United States are given the resources, they will certainly try.

“I have been to the promised land over 30 times in the past 41 years and have never seen the nation under such dire threat,” Huckabee said. “Israel is our closest ally and friend and they are suffering due to evil people and evil countries throughout the world. We as a country must do more to protect Israel and relish in it’s survival. G-d has protected this very small, beautiful and increasingly meaningful country, but it’s time for the United States to do the same.”

Huckabee’s beliefs in Israel and specifically the settlements are set in stone. Like the stone he touches when he prays at the Wailing Wall. His words come from his heart.

Modi Rosen founded Magma Venture Partners and has served as Managing Partner of the Fund since 1999. Magma Venture Partners is one of Israel’s leading Ventures Capital firms, focused on investing in early stage information technology start-ups. To date, the fund has raised close to $500 million dollars and was the seed investor in WAZE (acquired by Google).

Rosen enthusiastically promotes the great potential and genus of Israel’s high tech industry at every opportunity, thus growing the relevance of Israel’s importance throughout the world. He is also a great supporter of Bet El and is a very close friend of Ketzaleh, Bet El’s founder.

With the news dominated by Arab propaganda about “Israeli occupation,” fictitious IDF assaults and actual assaults on Israelis, Bet El represents the true story of what is taking place in Biblical Judah and Samaria, spearheaded by visionaries like Jean and Eugen Gluck.

Bet El’s extraordinary story began 4,000 years ago, when the patriarch Abraham established it as a camp along his divinely inspired trek through the land of Canaan. Two generations later, Bet El became the site of Jacob’s famous dream and dramatic wrestling match with an angel – the site where the name “Israel” was coined.

Today Bet El has transformed from a tiny community of eight families in 1977 to a vibrant Jewish center that now houses an ethnically diverse Jewish population of over 10,000. It is home to the world-renowned Bet El Yeshiva Center, which provides a comprehensive education to students from pre-school through post-college. Graduates have become the leading teachers in Yeshivas and High Schools across Israel, bringing the spirit of Torah to all.

The Raaya Girls High School Academy is celebrated as one of the premier learning centers in all of Israel and can’t accommodate all the girls who want to attend.

This year’s Bet El gala will presents honors to Stanley and Judith Rosenberg (Shomer Yisrael), Rabbi Moshe Plutchok, Rabbi Yosef Bitton and Steven Adelsberg (Keter Torah), William and Mark Langfan (Shomer Bet El) and Marc and Davida Yehaskel (Young Leadership).

The American Friends of Bet El dinner has become one of New York City’s largest and most prestigious Jewish events, with last year’s dinner attracting an astounding 1,500 attendees.

Tickets are $500 per couple. For a reservation, contact Baruch Gordon, 917-595-0435.
