1,800 at UJA-Federation Summerfest

Long Island supporters of UJA-Federation’s good work flocked to the NYCB Theatre at Westbury last week for the 24th annual Summerfest Concert. The climax of the event, which drew a sold-out crowd of 1,800, was a concert by Grammy Award winning artist John Legend. Todd Richman of Old Westbury received the organization’s Robert S. Boas Award for his philanthropic and community leadership.

Among those participating at the event were Aaron Rosenfeld, Joshua Wanderer and Irwin Gershon, driving forces behind Tov B’Yachad, a UJA-Federation Orthodox initiative. The Orthodox communities and UJA-Federation “share the same core values,” Gershon told The Jewish Star.

Wendy and Steven Shenfeld, Elizabeth Kase and Craig Johnson, and Dena and Ron Kosinksi were this year’s Summerfest chairs. Joyce and Philip Sharfstein were the New Leadership Campaign chairs. Jeffrey Gould, Scott Jaffee and Scott Smith — all past recipients of the Robert S. Boas Award — were the Corporate chairs.
